Sunday School

The St. James Gospel Chapel Sunday School serves as a Christian Education program that runs Sunday mornings from 11:15 to 12:15 (during the summer months, we end at 12:00). Running classes for students from age 2 all the way to grade 12, we seek to teach the basic principles of the Bible through age-appropriate materials.

A typical Sunday for elementary age (and younger) students would consist of an opening session and a teaching session. The opening session includes up-tempo singing, a celebration of any birthdays, an introduction of new students and a quiz. The second half of the hour, the teaching session, is spent in age-assigned classes where students are taught a Bible lesson. The 2007 curriculum focuses on the parables of Christ. As well, in encouraging the students in practical faith-based endeavours, we have undertaken helping with shoeboxes at Christmas and sponsoring a child through Compassion Canada.

Junior and Senior High students take part in the Family Bible Hour opening and are then assigned to their classes for their Bible lessons. Special events for the year include a Christmas program with the participation of all classes and a Sunday School picnic in June.

We welcome all children to our Sunday School. Our prayer is to see young people brought to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and receive teaching that would lay the foundation for a biblical and fulfilling personal walk with the Saviour. For more information, please email Ryan Evans.
